New Millenium Quilt
Roslyn McIntyre's millenium quilt is a wonderful blend of colour and pattern which nevertheless achieves a harmony that is a delight to see. She explains her concept:
“I began collecting 2000 different 2 ½ inch squares for this quilt in the year 2000 with the idea of making a quilt to celebrate the coming of the new millennium. It took me several years to complete and is hand appliqued over freezer paper and hand quilted. I just kept adding more rounds until I had used exactly 2000 different fabrics and it ended up being a king size quilt. I used the same heart shaped template in various ways throughout the quilt and it is an original somewhat unplanned design!”
