About Us
The Gloucester Patchwork group was formed by a group of NSW women from Gloucester, Barrington and surrounding areas. If you enjoy sewing, creating patchwork quilts and helping in the community then this is the group for you. New members are always welcome - just pop in to the hall on your way through Barrington between 9.30 am and 4pm on the third Tuesday of the month, enjoy a cuppa with us and see what we do. Or contact our President Cath on 0437 260 592 to find out more.
There is a lighthearted and relaxed atmosphere where new and experienced patchworkers share their skills and knowledge.

A stitch in the community
Members are busy working on their own projects or supporting a variety of charitable organisations. For example, make chemo caps and drain bags for cancer patients and provide quilts for premature babies born in Taree and Newcastle area hospitals, or babies available for adoption. We have made quilts for victims of the floods in Brisbane and other parts of Queensland, Coonabaraban fires and others. We have also made items for school fetes, trauma teddies and quilts for Hill crest and Narraweema Nursing homes.
Our patchworkers have made quilts to raffle, including one for the Heart Foundation which included hearts stitched, embroidered and pieced by a number of members.

The next generation
During Education Week we participated in the local schools' "Bucketts of Care" Day to share what we do in the community and to encourage younger generations to enjoy creative piecing! We have travelled to participate in regional patchwork events and classes, hold "workshops to share new skills andhave takenopportunities to bring well known teachers to our area to update members with new techniques.
Members enjoyed presenting a workshop for those who attended the Women's Gathering in Gloucester in 2011.
We are currently exploring the possibility of extending our meeting time into the evening to allow more people the opportunity to join us.

Show time
We love to share our work with others. Our members have a diverse range of creative and needlework skills which we showcase in our own Quilt Exhibition held at the Barrington Hall once every four years. Look fo notification of the next exhibition on this website.
In other years we take opportunities to display our work such as the Gloucester Show, the Gloucester Art Trail Art Gallery exhibitions and the biennial Garden Ramble. See our news page for upcoming events!
